Distribute your content to the educational and cultural sector

Modified on Fri, 16 Jan at 3:08 PM

With OKAST, you can distribute your content (video, audio) as a digital resource for schools and media libraries.

With the increasing accessibility of digital technology in education and culture, students, researchers, and the general public can now access documentaries, films, and podcasts on specific topics.

This access to resources is provided through portals made available by institutions such as:

  • Educational and cultural networks
  • Schools: primary, secondary, and high schools
  • Universities
  • Libraries and media libraries
  • Businesses

Beyond the commercial agreement required for distribution, which you manage directly or through a partner, there is also technical integration, facilitated by OKAST's expertise.

OKAST can assist you in choosing a business partner for educational and cultural networks.

Setup

If you already have an active project with us, simply request the creation of an additional project of the "Education / EDU" type.

Your content catalog remains the same; you can directly reuse the content in a different editorial format dedicated to these institutional clients.

We offer two services as part of this setup:

Authentication

Depending on the institution or type of institution, user authentication through the portal to third-party resources may vary.

OKAST supports the main authentication protocols: CAS and OpenID. We can also support other, older protocols through an authentication gateway managed by LibLynx.

Harvesting

Once authenticated, the user can either access your site directly or browse resources from the institution's portal (featured content, search, etc.).

To do this, we have implemented a dedicated API to retrieve your content's metadata and make it available to the institution.

Daily Use

In your interface, we create a new, specific project called "Education / EDU".

From this project, you will be able to add educational or cultural institutions and set the following for each:

a maximum number of users

a maximum number of connections

the connection protocol for authentication

Everything else is the same; you can manage your content, smartlists, and casting in the same way as a standard project.
