You want to generate dynamic filler media or insert advertisements into a feature film. It's possible to insert an automation into a concatenated program. It then becomes an interstitial automation.
Example:
You can concatenate 2 bumpers and insert an interstitial program in between (interstitial space)
→ The result is media that can be inserted into a playlist.
This allows you to create a filler element
Warning: this feature is in Beta version.
To use this feature, go to the media base, click on the Video tab, then All videos.
1. View concatenated media segments
To view the structure of concatenated media, click on the > button.
This opens an editing interface
By clicking on the blue elements
SEGMENT #0 or SEGMENT #1 or SEGMENT #2
You'll be able to view the segment in the same way as you can view classic media.
2. Handling concatenated media
If your concatenated media has 2 segments (it can have more) then you get at least 5 parts:
- Interstitle before media
- Segment 0
- Interstitial during media
- Segment 1
- Interstitial after media
Within each of these interstitial spaces, you can insert :
- The complete content of a folder
- Interstitial automation
3. Create an interstitial program
Click on Programming, then on Programs.
- Then create your interstitial program:
- Define a short duration, e.g. less than 5 min.
- Check the Interstitials box
- Leave the "Ignore first interstitial" box ticked
- Corresponds to the interstitial space before media
- Leave "Ignore last interstitial" ticked
- Corresponds to interstitial space after media
- Like a classic automation, define the program(s) you wish to play.
Here's an example of an interstitial ad
You'll see the following:
- Interstitial before media: Nothing
- Segment 0: program start
- Interstitial during media: Jingle → Ad → Jingle
- Segment 1: end of program
- Interstitial after media: Nothing
4. Inserting an interstitial program
A - Create a default configuration
Go to the media database.
Then click on this button to display the concatenated media management interface.
At the top, select the interstitial program you created in the previous step, then click on Apply.
This will bring up a series of media between the program segments.
To apply this configuration, click on Update at the bottom of the interface.
By default, this media will always be broadcast with this configuration
Video example
B - Update configuration
You can insert or program this media directly into a program playlist at any time.
As this is media, you can use drag & drop to adjust a playlist, rather than using fill.
Go to a day's playlist > Playlist menu
Then filter media on the tag or folder in which your concatenated media is located.
Then drag and drop the media into your playlist.
Click on the button to displaythe menu.
Then select the interstitial program or folder you wish to play to fill your playlist.
Don't forget to save the changes you've just made to the playlist: Apply.
