Create a FAST streaming

FAST broadcasting allows you to offer your users the stream of a video in the same way as a television channel, accompanied by its programme schedule.

Go to the CATALOG menu > FAST streaming > Create a FAST streaming

You have two choices of sources.

1. EXTERNAL SOURCE

In this case, you want to broadcast video streams from URLs in the OKAST video player.

Copy and paste the following URLs:

a. The ‘Source URL’ field, which allows you to embed a simple video stream, i.e. without any additional data enrichment. The URL must be in HLS format.

b. The ‘EPG URL’ field allows your ‘Source URL’ video to be enhanced with an EPG (in French, GEP stands for Guide Electronique des Programmes de la télévision).

The EPG URL provides detailed information accessible via an interactive infographic menu (next scheduled content, broadcast times, metadata, etc.).

You will find an example of an EPG URL attachment using the XMLTV format (https://metacpan.org/pod/DateTime::Format::XMLTV) at the end of this help page.

Finally, check the broadcast and advertising settings using the eponymous buttons.

The result will be similar to an EXTERNAL Contribution video > Source FLUX > URL (HLS) + EPG.

2. INTERNAL SOURCE

In this case, you want to broadcast video streams from your FAST channels present in OKAST in the PUBLISH, MONETIZE > FAST channel menu.

Simply select one of your FAST channels in the field.
