Create a series With OKAST

OKAST lets you create and organise your series (seasons, episodes) to showcase this popular content on platforms.

1. The series list

The Series function, like the Smartlist function, allows you to edit your content.


Series allows you to display your series hierarchically by season and episode.


To create, manage or delete a series, go to Projetct > Menu > PUBLICH MANAGEMENT > Series.


All the series already created are listed here. You can see how many series you have (3 in this case) using the constantly updated counter.

The search function lets you quickly find the series you're looking for: try typing its name ...


The table gives you an overview of each of your series:

  • statut des séries for the status of the series (like smartlists, they can be activated / scheduled / in draft).
  • nombre de langues renseignéesIts internal name, which gives you access to editing the Series parameters.
  • Geographical restriction géographiqueand time restrictions if activated.
     
  • nombre de langues renseignéeshe number of translations (of the serial page) you have entered. Hover over the icon to find out which languages these are.
  • nombre de langues renseignéesthe number of seasons in the series.
  • nombre de langues renseignéesthe date of the last modification.

If you hover over the last modification date, you will see :

  • éditionto edit your series.
  • suppressionto delete the series.

To create a new series, click onbouton créerto access the series creation and management page.

 

2. Creation/Management page of your series

 

A. The internal name of the serie on the back office

  • As for a content or a smartlist, you can change the internal name of the series by clicking on édition so you can quickly identify it.
     
  • You also find the status of the series, and the button toggle to enable / disable it.

 

B. The languages (translations) of your series page

Enter new languages by clickingnouvelle langue and delete them by clicking . Creating a new language will automatically add new fields for Titles / description / illustrations / etc.

 

C. Title and friendly URL

Title

  • You can add a title to your series, for each of the languages you have selected previously.
  • The indicator* is there to remind you of the default language of your series.


The title will be displayed in 2 locations on your platform :


1. Above the series, within the homepage of your platform

2. Inside your series page 

Along with the illustrative images, this title will be the most visible element of your series on your platform.


Friendly URL

The friendly URL is automatically generated from the title given to the content with dashes between each month. This URL will be the one of the content on the platform. You can leave this field empty and a URL will be generated.

D. Description

The description will present the series itself.


E. Series images 

Depending on the editorial choices you make to customise your platform, your series can be displayed to users in different ways: the illustration images come in 4 formats.


Fill in all 4 to have greater freedom when customising! Of course, you can use only one format if you wish, but be careful to respect this format throughout! Go to "Editing your platform" to find out more about the importance of illustration formats...


This image is used to illustrate the offer to your users.

The total sum of images must not exceed 8MB

Example 2 images = 8MB, 4 images = 8MB.

If you do not have the appropriate formats, the uploaded image will be automatically resized by our system.


F. Seasons 

Here you can choose the order of the seasons and how they are displayed

If your series has seasons, start by selecting the season number. You will then need to enter a title, description and illustrations for each season.

  • To add an extra season simply click on  to create a new tab.
  • To view your season, copy its ID or delete it, click onsuppression. Deleting the season will delete its title, description and illustrations, as well as all the items associated with it.

Once your seasons are created, you can modify their number thanks to the fields . This can be useful if there is a season missing from your catalog, or if you want to start by directly creating season 3 or 4 for example.

  • To reverse the order in which the seasons are displayed, activate the :


  • To stop a season being displayed (to your users only) while retaining its information (name, content, etc.), deactivate the :



G. Episodes

Use the Elements module on each of the Seasons tabs to transfer video or audio content from My Elements Library to My Season.

  • The left-hand panel contains all the video and audio content in your catalogue. The right-hand panel shows the episodes from the seasons of your series. You can use the search bars to find all your items.

  • To complete each season, simply drag and drop an item from the left panel to the right panel. You can also tick the box to select the items you want to add to the season of your series. Once you have made your selection, click on the arrow (→) to add the content to the season.

  • By default, the item at the top of the list is automatically detected as the 1st episode of the season. Simply move the items to change their place in the season.

  • To remove one or more episodes from the season of your series, select them and then move them back to the left panel using the arrow (←).

  • You can change the episode numbering using the My Season selector.

  • You can reverse the order in which episodes are displayed by activating the following option:

 

H. Restrictions

You have the possibility to block the access to a serie according to the geographical position of your viewers AND/OR according to time period AND/OR a commercialization period

  • Geographic restriction: enable geographical restrictions on the territories for which serie is allowed or blocked

  • Availability period: set a start and end date or only a start date for a given serie and the content URL will only be available inside of this time window

⚠ Warning: For a series to be desplayed on your platform, you must attach it to an active component.
